The System Parameters option allows the Admin user to configure and customize Arclink so it is tailored to their specific business requirements. The configuration options are grouped under the following headings

Parameters

This section contains the following system wide settings

• The delete file password

• The remove level password

• Controls if users or only the Admin user can change the closing date

• File reference delimiter, default is "\" 

• What field is initially used to open a file in the File Open option. This can be changed and is stored as a user specific setting

• Limit borrowing by section. If selected, only staff from a section can borrow a file from that section. A staff member can be assigned to a particular section using the staff maintenance function. 

• Limit access to audit data to the Admin super, section administrators or allow all users to view this data

• Inherit rights from the parent level – when a level is added, all users who have access to the parent will be granted access to the new level

File Detail Display

This allows for the customizing of the fields available in the file grid, and additionally the (de-)activating of the Alternative File Reference field. It allows for the (de-)activating of location fields.

Custom Setup

This option can be used to add bespoke extra fields to a file. An extra tab containing up to six text fields can be added to the file edit form. This tab can be given a custom name as can all the fields. These fields are included in the quick search and in the detailed search once activated.

Customization

This allows for the custom naming of all file fields. These changes are naturally reflected throughout Arclink

File Lifecycle

Controls the

• Editing of file lifecycles

• Auto creation of level lifecycles

• Whether a life cycle is required

• What fields are required for a lifecycle stage

Barcodes

Configuration settings for enabling and displaying barcodes

​

File Move

Controls defaults for the File Move feature

​

File Loan

Controls if the external customer file loan feature is activated
