AUDITING
A full auditing mechanism is in the place that will track all file entries and modifications. All file movements are also tracked and are fully reportable, even for files that have been deleted
Quick note on deleting files

It should be noted that files in Arclink are not deleted, rather flagged as deleted. This allows for reports on deleted files to be generated. The ability to delete files is a security controlled setting and is also password protected.
A full audit trail for all file inserts and updates is recorded. This audit trail records all changes across all file fields including all updates to the file lifecycle.
The before and after value is recorded, along with user details and the time the action took place. This read-only data is accessible using a security controlled option on the the file edit form.
Some basic audit data is displayed on the main file form such as the last user to update the file, the last action, the date the file was created.

The file audit grid uses an enhanced version of the file grid. This dynamic grid allows for records to be grouped and for the entire data set to be be exported.
The description field is a text field and the values are accessible by double-clicking the relevant row as shown opposite.
ACCESS
Access to audit data is controlled using the Arclink user type category (see Security for more information). Access to audit data can be configured so that only the Admin super user can view data, or it can set to allow section administrators to also view this data. Finally, it can be made accessible to all users. This type of security setting is covered in greater detail in Security.
ADDITIONAL AUDIT DATA
Arclink creates audit data for more than just file edits. Arclink also record audit logs for
