REPORTING

Arclink has a common reporting interface for ease of use and to assist with the user experience. Arclink contains a number of reports, centered around the key features and the records management reporting functions required for these features.

Each report will allow the user to filter the data for the report based on data associated with the report. All reports can be filtered by section. Users will only be able to select sections that they have been granted access to. If no section filter is selected only files belonging to sections and levels the user has been granted access to will be returned. These security features are explored in more detail in Security

Users can conditionally select to display the file title on a report. This is is conditional to reduce the amount of papers wastage as each file title will be printed on a separate line and might not be required.

All reports can be sorted based on some combination of the main fields included on the report. Some reports can be grouped by fields specific to that report. It should be noted that if a grouping field is selected, it will not be possible to order by that field (data is grouped and the groups ordered by that field by default) and so the number of possible 'Order by' options will be dynamically reduced. If the Alt Reference field is activated, the data can then also be sub-ordered either by the Arclink file reference or by the alternative reference. If the Alt Reference field is not active, the data will be sub-ordered by the Arclink file reference by default. These concepts are shown below using the R &D - by Section report
