GDPR
The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) that came into force on 25th May 2018 has focused the spotlight on data privacy concerns and controlling access to systems and files, among other concerns.

Files can now be assigned a GDPR file classification. This allows for controlled access to certain GDPR classified files, signing of key records management actions for certain GDPR classified files and the logging of all access to these files. How these classifications and controls are configured is detailed in the GDPR File Classification topic.

Enhanced Security
One important outcome of the GDPR has been the the increased focus security to protect against data breaches and to protect individual's data, especially sensitive personal data . The security layer in Arclink has been enhanced to make the system more secure and less likely to accessed by users who do not have the required rights.
The system will log out after a certain time period if this is set, defaulting to 20 minutes but this is configurable. If not set (i.e. set to 0), the system will not logout. All unsaved work will be lost if Arclink logs out. A timeout warning will appear in the status bar and is accompanied a series of system sound alerts.
Password control has been extended to allow the Admin user to define password expiration and complexity These features, which are detailed in the Enhanced Security topic, along with the existing security infrastructure, protect against unauthorized users assessing Arclink and it’s data.
